Starts with a Swedish announcement from 1746 regarding that trade has been started with Madeira. The collection is divided in following sections: Foreign mail processed in Madeira, transit and postage due; Foreign entry into European countries until 1905; Foreign mail to countries ouside of Europe until 1905; Foreign entry after 1905; Local and Domestic mail; and Airmail. A wide range of items from the pre-philatelic period onwards with explained postage rates, postal notations and postal routes. A very nice collection with a lot of presented knowledge.
