Romania. ★★. Very attractive and unusual complete sheets of the imperforate Prince Alexander Cuza definitives of 1865, SG #46 5 p blue, #48 20 p red and #49a 2 p orange. The catalogue as singles hinged alone is £150 per set i.e. £15,000 for the 3x sheets of 100. It should be noted that each sheet has five empty spaces to the bottom row and each sheet is particularly visually impressive as such. There is some toning on reverse of the 20 p red and a little toning this time on the selvage of the 5 p blue and occasional toning on the 2 p orange. Overall however, the toning is not at all obvious from the front of the stamps and given their age it is quite extraordinary to see such good condition generally, especially as never hinged. An opportunity very seldom available, much recommended.
