The heritage of lifelong collecting from three previous owners. The twelve thick Shaubek albums are filled with nice items from 1840 to 1930 and some areas to 1940. Sweden includes an unrepaired 3sk bco and is complete in this album except for Värnamo 55 and 80 öre. Other Nordic countries are very well filled missing only the most expensive stamps. Europe is well filled with many better stamps especially France is comprehensive. Good section of USA and Canada, some nice China and Japan. French and Portuguese colonies are well represented, British colonies a bit less. South America is extensive with plenty of extra material and scarcer stamps. The albums are fresh in general except for some small notes, one album have the spine repaired. Qualtiy is mixed with some faults noted, mostly fine or better. This is a solid collection with great potential for expansion. Please see a selection of scans at www.philea.se. (More than 50000 stamps, all countries are apparently represented). Three previous owners: One norwegian and two wellknown swedish collectors. Terms : 1. The owner wants the collection to be bought by somebody that will keep the collection either intact or will continue to collect in it, not break it down and/or sell all or parts of it. Therefore a penalty of SEK 100000 will have to be paid by the buyer to the owner if this happens within five years of the buying date. Also this means that the owner may (through AB Philea) reject bids from prospective buyers. 2. A purchase agreement (document) between the owner, AB Philea and the buyer will be set up at the time of purchase that will include the term (1). The collection has to be paid for in full before or at the same time as it is handed over to the buyer. 3. The collection is viewable only in the owners home, slightly North of central Stockholm. 4. Prospective buyers should inform AB Philea of their interest to view the collection in good time before the auction. 5. AB Philea will inform the owner of prospective buyers and together they will decide who will be admitted for viewing and in what order. 6. As a consequence of (5). AB Philea (and indirectly the owner) reserves the right to deny viewing – or in case of admitting viewing decide the viewing order between prospective buyers – without having to give any reasons or arguments about the decision. Interesting collection with many good stamps from most European countries but the quality is very mixed with many stamps with faults and also a lot of falsifications. Starts with the Nordic countries incl. Sweden 4–24 sk, Norway with 25 skilling stamps, Denmark with 30 Skilling stamps, Iceland with 7 skilling stamps and Finland with 11 serpentines among a lot more. German Reich and states are strong with many better stamps also good sections of France, Greece, Portugal and Spain. Overseas is less complete but with better stamps here and there e.g. Canada with provinces, USA, Brazil, Uruguay and good sections of British colonies. Due to the very mixed condition and large amount of false stamps we have a very low reserve on this collection. Spend some time to explore this collection on the viewing. Europa, övriga världen samt motiv innebär en annan indelningsgrund för samlingar. Med ”Europa och övriga världen” avses främst samlingar som omfattar en viss världsdel och/eller en viss tidsperiod. Med ”motiv” menas samlingar som fokuserar på ett visst motiv/tema (exvis sport, Röda Korset, bilar, Slania, olympiska spel) och där man inte avgränsar till något särskilt land eller, i vissa fall, geografiskt område.

Philea erbjuder, vid varje auktion, ett antal samlingar som kan hänföras till denna kategori.

En Europasamling, Asiensamling eller Hela Världensamling innehåller, i regel, något slags tidsmässig avgränsning, exvis Hela Världen fram till 1920. Samlingsområdet blir alldeles för omfattande annars. Det här är ett populärt samlingsområde eftersom de politiska förändringarna över tid har medfört att frimärksutgivande områden tillkommit eller försvunnit, att frimärksutgivande områden har bytt från en nationstillhörighet till en annan eller frimärksutgivande områden haft en väldigt kort livslängd. Trieste, Memel-området i dagens Lettland eller Slesvig- området är exempel på sådant. Samlingen kan innehålla frimärken, brev, helsaker, stämplar mm.

En sådan här samling kan också avgränsas till exvis Franska kolonier och handelsstationer i Asien fram till 1960 eller f d Franska kolonier i Afrika. Det är det egna intresset som avgör och i de flesta fall har avgränsningarna en historisk eller politisk anknytning.

I en motivsamling söker man få ihop frimärken, brev, FDC, stämplar och vad det nu kan vara om ett visst motiv/ett visst tema. Broar, atlantångare, orkidéer, reptiler, flaggor, fotboll, VM-turneringar är bara ett par exempel på motiv/teman. Det är det egna intresset som styr. Här kan man samla både stämplade och ostämplade frimärken. Väljer man stämplade frimärken bör man se till att frimärksmotivet inte skyms av en stämpel. Det viktiga är att försöka skapa något slags struktur i det material man samlar på sig.
