An extraordinary range, very complex and scholarly even for the more experienced student of these issues, specifically for the first lion definitives of 1919 to 1929, all housed in four volumes with 1000s of stamps with countless varieties, unusual postmarks, lots of multiples, superb imprint blocks of six with the month and year of printing to determine the different papers, etc, etc. Much of this is a 'work in progress', as this collector expanded over a 40 year period of serious buying anything he could find. especially material that was different to the norm. It is because of this that while there are many pages of album leaves, there are also many more pages for the multiples housed in large stockcards, often written up accordingly to identify the stamps. Almost an impossible lot to describe as it is so in depth - anybody who is interested in this area of Finnish philately will be absolutely delighted in the breadth and scope of what is here. The viewing could take hours just to begin to appreciate this amazing holding. Approx. 6 kg. Show less
